Research

I am interested in migration and demographic processes at both the macro and micro scale. At the state and national level, I explore how migration brings about demographic change. At the local level, I investigate how residential mobility impacts communities. Recent research projects have included an analysis of large scale Hispanic migration in the US, poverty migration in Illinois, and community studies of highly mobile, poor rural communities.
