Welcome to the MU Department of Geography

The University of Missouri Department of Geography pursues excellence in research, education, and outreach through a vibrant community of scholars, students, and practitioners. The Department offers the B.A. and M.A. in Geography as well as certificate programs in Geospatial Intelligence and GIS. The faculty provides expertise across human and physical goegraphy but has particular strengths in nature-society interaction; fluvial geomorphology, biogeography, and climate change; cultural, Indigenous, and rural geography; and geospatial science.

Congratulations to all of the department's Spring 2012 B.A. and M.A Geography graduates!

The Department welcomes its newest tenure-track faculty member, Dr. Grant Elliott. Dr. Elliott's research focuses on the biogeographic manifestations of climate change at treeline in the Southern Rocky Mountains. For more, see Dr. Elliott's faculty page.
